HP G72-B66US- Features

With HD display and a big 17.3 inch display, this laptop also features HP's BrightView LED technology. This means that all text, photo's, video's and alike are all very detailed, sharp and crystal clear.

This laptop features the Intel Core i3 processor and comes with 4GB RAM. With that sort of memory and a powerful processor, the G72-B66US will handle multitasking projects you may require each day. Although not designed to be a games laptop, this unit will be able to handle some of the more energy zapping games.

A full numeric pad is included on the wide keyboard, although the keys do not light up. There is also a HP webcam and an integrated microphone, although this is a common feature in every other modern laptop out there. The Altec Lansing speakers provide decent sound quality, and the graphics settings also allow you to do some major work without worrying about overload.

This HP unit is not exactly light at 6.6 pounds, but is very competitive to other laptops with a 17.3 inch screen. Three USB slots (2.0) are available on this laptop which is the average number these days for laptops.

A rather elegant mouse pad with the same textures as the base of the unit gives a more up market look to the laptop. A rather generous battery can see the G72-B66US last for around 2.5 hours from a full charge. This particular laptop comes preloaded with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Preimum Edition.

• Bang For Your Buck- When comparing the retail price of this unit to what's offered, it really demonstrates really good value for money. Surprisingly, a lot of the features of this HP model are usually associated with that of higher end/higher priced laptops.

Potential Improvements
Less than perfect speakers- The Altec Lansing speakers have been pointed out as a flaw by some users, but many others have felt it is just fine. Having said that however, it is in no way disgraceful or really lacking.

Verdict
The HP G72-B66US is a fighter and packs in a lot of features, misses out on a few negligible ones, and somehow manages to get them all to run together to make for a good machine for laptop users.
